The Fishermen Family Relief Fund

In 2016, when the Salmon season was closed for the entire

year, we were involved with relief funds to help the fishermen by

providing a money card for groceries. We decided after that, to

set up a fund for future crisis events that our local fishermen

families may experience. Coincidentally, we had also just finished

fundraising for the “Those Who Wait “ sculpture and thought that

this would be a good use of our fundraiser funds going forward.

It is set up to offer assistance to fishing families when they

have a catastrophic event related to fishing that prevents them

from fishing for a prolong period and or causes significant

financial adversity.  The fund was primarily set up to assist our

local commercial fishermen that fish out of Port San Luis or Morro

Bay harbors. That includes Captain and Crew.

It can also be used to assist a spouse after a death at sea.
